CMA Triennial Conference – 2019

The 25 Triennial Conference of the Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA) was successfully held in Abuja, Nigeria, from Monday, 4th to Wednesday, 6th November, 2019. The
conference which was tagged ‘CMA Abuja 2019’ was hosted by the Nigerian Medical
Association, and had as its theme: “Fast Tracking the attainment of Universal Health
Coverage in the Commonwealth: the place of CMA Social Health Enterprise.” It ran
concurrently with the 2nd National Health Summit (NHS) of the Nigerian Medical Association(NMA), and featured CMA Executive meeting, CMA Council meeting, CMA plenary sessions,
as well as a formal joint opening ceremony and installation of the newly elected CMA President, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, on Tuesday, 5 November 2019 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The joint opening ceremony was chaired by a former Head of State of Nigeria, General
Yakubu Gowon (rtd.), PhD, GCFR.

The Triennial Conference also had in attendance His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who was ably represented by the
Hon. Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
